Title: Highlight Future Due Time for Later Orders on the Bump Screen

Description

Later orders are currently shown on the Bump Screen in the same way as immediate orders. This can cause the kitchen to start preparing them straight away, even though the order is not due until a later time.

To reduce confusion, the order’s scheduled due date and time should be clearly displayed on the Bump Screen so staff can quickly identify orders that should not yet be prepared.

Suggested Solution

Add the order’s future due date and time to each order on the front end of the Bump Screen. Use a simple JavaScript check to compare the order’s due time with the current time.

  • If the order is due in more than 30 minutes, display the due date and time in red
  • If the order is due within 30 minutes, keep the normal display styling

This should be a small front-end enhancement and relatively quick to implement.

Business Impact

  • Reduces the risk of the kitchen preparing scheduled orders too early
  • Helps staff distinguish later orders from immediate orders at a glance
  • Improves kitchen workflow and timing accuracy
  • Minimises food quality issues caused by early preparation
  • Low implementation effort for a clear operational benefit

Acceptance Criteria

  • The Bump Screen displays the scheduled due date and time for each later order
  • The system uses JavaScript on the front end to compare the due time against the current time
  • If the due time is more than 30 minutes away, the displayed due date and time appears in red
  • If the due time is within 30 minutes, the displayed due date and time uses the default styling
  • Immediate orders continue to display as normal with no negative impact on the current workflow
  • The change is visible and working consistently across all relevant order cards on the Bump Screen

Agree this should be improved. Will plan. We are also building a dedicated Bump screen app for POS.

This is also an excellent improvement to implement. In fact, everything is currently mixed together: orders to be prepared now and orders to be prepared in the future. And this creates confusion.
Together with fixing the timer in the Bump Screen section, this will definitely become a very useful screen.
